Cardiorespiratory and Emergency Medicine

The Cardiorespiratory and Emergency Medicine Department offers degree and certificate programs, 还有课程, in several allied health areas. Graduates are working in hospitals and skilled medical facilities around the Capital Region and beyond.

The department offers the following degree and certificate programs:

Community and Public Health A.S.
Those working in community and public health educate, motivate and empower their clients. Working under licensed health care professionals, they serve as a liaison between clients and the health care system, connecting community members with services and providing support for those navigating the health care landscape. This program prepares you to enter the workforce or continue your education in a variety of 社区卫生, social services and allied health fields.

Community and Public Health Certificate
This program is designed for those who have some background in a health care field and have completed coursework in a related area. Coursework in this program will help you acquire a broad base of knowledge that spans health care, 社区卫生, 健康保险, 人类服务, health literacy and chronic diseases.

护理人员的.A.S.
Completion of this program allows you to take the New York State Department of Health and National Registry of EMT's certifying examinations at the Paramedic level.

Paramedic Certificate
This program was designed for incoming students who already have a current NYS EMT card and one year of EMT experience. Successful completion allows you to take the New York State Department of Health and National Registry of EMT's certifying examinations at the Paramedic level.

This degree will prepare you to work in an allied health specialty that deals with the diagnostic evaluation and management of patients with neurological and sleep abnormalities.

This degree will educate you to care for patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. Respiratory therapists work in hospitals, rehabilitation agencies, 养老院, emergency transport teams, outpatient clinics and physician offices.
